Dig Into the 2018 San Diego Taco Fest
San Diego’s Finest Taco Creations
It wouldn’t be May in San Diego without the San Diego Taco Fest. This bustling celebration of food, music, and culture draws in visitors from all over to delight in this signature culinary offering. Interpreted in countless ways by the top local chefs and restaurants, Taco Fest returns on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Waterfront Park.
The Restaurants
If an abundance of choice is what you love, you’ve come to the right place. Over 30 restaurants will be plying visitors with their takes on tacos. Last year’s lineup included local favorites like Tamarindo, Tako Factory Taqueria, Coal Bros, Cocina 35, and more. Ranging from appetizer-sized rolled tacos to plates loaded with carne asada and al pastor, you can make your way around Restaurant Row, sampling small bites or just sticking with one chosen vendor.
The Acts
The accompaniment to your culinary odyssey comes courtesy of dozens of local bands, spanning multiple genres. Playing the Main Stage will be Flashpants, One Drop Redemption, Bulevar Descarga, and D-Rock, all serving up some unique sounds to keep the energy high. Head down to the south end of the festival and you’ll catch live Lucha Libre wrestling matches featuring Tijuana’s own Baja Stars. Meanwhile, dog lovers will delight in the sight of San Diego’s fastest Chihuahuas, facing off in a Beauty Pageant and a Chihuahua Race.
